2a is created by collaborative efforts of Japanese designer Yasayuki Kurata and Tokyo’s most highly regarded production house, Artec LAB. Yasayuki Kurata graduated with honors from the Bunka Fashion Collage which boasts an alumni list of the most highly celebrated designers in the world including, Yohji Yamamato, Junya Wantanabe of Comme des Garcons, and Jun Takahashi. Following his graduation Yasayuki spent several years as head designer of Hollywood Ranch Market and designing finishing washes as well as fabrics for use by Artec LABs clients. After 12 years, Artec LAB, has positioned itself as one of the most innovative and prestigious production facilities in Japan. Creating their own patented natural finishes and fabrications for their clients as well as executing production for the designers such as Dior, Comme des Garcons, Mihara Yasuhiro, Yohji Yamamoto, Julius, Junya Wantanabe, and MANY others has set Artec LAB a pedestal amongst the best producers anywhere.
