Designer Tomoaki Okaniwa graduated from Tokyo Fine Art University and taught himself to make the clothes that he wanted to wear himself. Early on he established a very financially successful street wear brand but wanted to make something which was more challenging and avant-garde. So, he created The Viridi-anne in 2000.
