A diciannoveventitre

is a label founded by self-taught Italian designer Simone Cecchetto and named after his beloved grandmother Augusta, and her birth year 1923. His label started off exclusively as experimental footwear, as he worked and consulted for both Carpe Diem and Rick Owens -- his personal taste is more the former, but working with nontraditional materials with Rick has really shaped the care and creativity with which he builds his shoes. He picks his hides. He tans them. He shapes and hammers the soles. More recently, he has forayed into clothing that harnesses the uniqueness of the raw and one-of-a-kind materials that he uses.
