Founded in 2013 to celebrate the art of shoe-making, Nihomano - Hawaiian word that means “shark tooth” reshapes the traditional footwear artisan methods to develop old concepts in a modern perspective. Nihomano embraces the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Being handmade, all Nihomano products inevitably suffer from the signs of the artisan process, explicitly represented in the scratches, the hammer blows and the abrasions to which Nihomano shoes are subjected. Nihomano shoes focus on the old opanca construction, an ancient technique that allows to mold the vero-cuoio by hand, only with the use of a hammer and some nails. From season to season, the Nihomano team keeps experimenting and exploring new ideas, resulting in strongly characterized and recognizable products that are independent from seasons and collections.
