DARKNEEDLE INDUSTRIES is an independent San Francisco studio by designer L. Ruano-Morales, exploring the intersection of traditional handwork, subculture, and utilitarian design.

Produced by hand and in limited quantities, each object begins with an obsessive attention to material and construction, using exceptional leathers, textiles, and components sourced from Italy and Japan, selected for their character, rarity, and distinctive qualities.

Originally founded as AgujaOscura (Spanish for “dark needle”), the studio draws from generations of craft and varied disciplines, guided by the quiet ingenuity of things made to be used.
